Nutrition plays a big part in the health and well-being of an individual, whether they be a child or elderly.
This is why all of our staff have been given training and advice in the use of the "MUST" tool.
MUST stands for......
Malnutrition
Universal
Screening
Tool
‘MUST’ is a five-step screening tool to identify adults, who are malnourished, at risk of malnutrition (undernutrition), or obese. It also includes management guidelines
which can be used to develop a care plan.
It is for use in hospitals, community and other care settings and can be used by all care workers but is only validated for use in adults.
Early identification of adults who are nutritionally depleted (or likely to become so) is vital in order to provide timely and appropriate nutritional intervention.
Nutritional screening should result in early identification of those adults who might have otherwise have been missed.
Please see our Recipes for delicious cakes that have added fruit or vegetables in them to boost their nutritional value.
